The most nervous dad in the world

2nd of Nov, 2016, 6 PM, I got a call, congratulations, you are blessed with a baby girl. How is the feeling? I politely smiled and nodded as well, as my friends kept trying to prepare me for fatherhood by telling me the same tired cliches: “Say goodbye to your care-free, irresponsible, lazy, selfish life!” and “Get plenty of sleep now, because soon you’ll be wishing you could.”

Yup, I am here again to tell you another story of a lazy, selfish, self-centered, irresponsible, but emotionally strong and independent boy, and how he just got converted to a very caring, emotional and a nervous dad.

People say that a man goes through a lots of social and psychological changes after becoming a dad. To all the bachelors and newly wedded men, believe me they all are wrong. It changes a man’s life completely.

So my life was also changed, you could find me those days shopping in malls, carrying a baby water bottle in one pocket and milk bottle in another. Those days I used to watch half of the movies lapping up my daughter, at the theater gate or singing a lullaby at popcorn counter, as my wife, she doesn’t like to get disturbed in movies. I mostly used to spend my so called “leave me alone” time after office hours discussing kid’s activities, diet charts, health issues and potty color, with other mothers and aunties in society’s garden.
